Abstract: 

The recent Fitness Check of the EU’s Birds and Habitats Directives concluded that they are fit for purpose, but meeting their objectives is dependent on better implementation. This paper, focusing on Greece, examines the status of implementation of the EU Nature Directives and presents recommendations on improving their implementation.
