This Communication attempts to assess the environmental damage resulting from land use and possible changes in the forest of the Kotychi-Strofilia National Park, as well as the indirect costs of replacement or change of use resulting from its degradation or destruction.
This highlights the importance of the ecosystem services provided by the country’s green infrastructure, particularly in the protected areas, as well as the need to create a distinct legislative framework for these areas, covering the requirements of the National and European Strategy for Biodiversity.
