Abstract: 

Surface water systems are highly diverse in their hydromorphology and, although they have been extensively studied in several countries in their response to various types of pressures, monitoring of impacts on the bio communities remains complicated. An integrated management plan must include legislative framework and the development of biodiversity maps.
