Natural History Museum of Crete (NHMC) was established as a department of the Faculty of Science of the University of Crete since 1980, being a pioneer institute at national and European level in several aspects of biological and geological diversity. The first aspect regards research on the environment of the Eastern Mediterranean at all levels, i.e.
The Bar Association of Chania (CB) was founded in year 1884. It is a Legal Entity of Public Law and today numbers 386 members.
Coordinator on behalf of the Chania Bar for Life Natura Themis is lawyer Ms. Maria Maniadaki.
CB is functioning according Law 4194/2013 about Lawyers, CB Bar Regulation and CB Code of Ethics.
The CB Board is constituted by the President of the Bar and ten Members.
Τhe Heraklion Bar Association (HB) was founded in 1954 according to the Decree 3026 which was published in the Governmental Gazette 235/08.10.1954 and has being amended through Law 4194/2013. The HB’s internal matters are regulated according to an Operating Regulation which follows the administrative board’s Resolution Nr 65/03.11.2015.
Coordinator on behalf of the Heraclion Bar for Life Natura Themis is lawyer Dr Jorgos Sbokos.
The Bar’s members amount the number of 810 full occupied Lawyers as well as 50 trainee Lawyers. Τhe HB has 15 committees on various issues of social interest. Since 2009 the HB runs an Environmental Committee in order to prepare recommendations for the Board on environmental related issues.
The Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN) is the oldest national environmental NGO in Greece, founded in 1951, and strives continuously for the protection of Greek nature since. It is active along four axes: environmental intervention; nature conservation; environmental education; sustainable management and general public awareness raising.
The Coordination Office for the Implementation of Environmental Liability (COIEL), in accordance with the provisions of P.D. 100/2014 (Official Gazette A 167) "Organization of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change", comes under the Inspectorate of Environment, Building, Energy and Mines. The COIEL is competent, according to the provisions of P.D.
