The Bar Association of Chania (CB) was founded in year 1884. It is a Legal Entity of Public Law and today numbers 386 members.

Coordinator on behalf of the Chania Bar for Life Natura Themis is lawyer Ms. Maria Maniadaki.

CB is functioning according Law 4194/2013 about Lawyers, CB Bar Regulation and CB Code of Ethics.

The CB Board is constituted by the President of the Bar and ten Members.

Within CB there are eleven committees functioning, amongst them Human Rights – Environmental Committee, Scientific Committee, Abalienation Committee, Cultural Committee, Sports Committee.

The Research Institute of Cretan Law was initially created as a CB service.

There is a constant collaboration between CB and the Institute of Cretan Law as well as the National Foundation of Researches and Studies “El. Venizelos” that are both estate at Chania Crete.   

CB has been fraternized to the Bar Associations of Larnaka Cyprus, Marseille France and Thessaloniki Greece.

Ιn both local society as well as in Greek legal society, CB is very well known due to its sustain and continuant interventions in all  legal, scientific and social matters.
