The Forest Rangers may decide for the measures taken and the projects implemented, in order to protect, increase, or decrease the wild fauna and flora in accordance with Article 80 par. 4a of the Forest Code (Law 86/1969, Government Gazette 7 / A / 01.18.1969). After the proposal of the competent Forestry Department and the decisions of the Prefect, issued in accordance with the Ministerial Decree  for the Management of wild birds)414 985 (Government Gazette B 757 1985) Article 8, par. 4 and 5, measures may be taken imposing restrictions for grazing during the period of reproduction. Prohibited may be applied in order to maintain appropriate conditions for the nesting and the breeding of the species. Together with the previous mentioned decisions, specific measures may also be taken to improve the habitats of the wild birds, such as the maintenance or the construction of living hedges in private property boundaries, the maintaining of uncultivated areas along creeks, the creation of water supply or drainage ditches and the planting of tree hedgerows along rural roads.
