The LIFE Natura Themis project participated at the 6^th Summer School of Environmental Journalism, Chania, July 21-30, 2017, which was organised by the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in cooperation with the Faculty of Communication and Mass Studies of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Regional Press Institute.

The coordinator of the project on behalf of Chania Bar Association Mrs Maria Maniadaki, highlighted the way the Western Crete Observatory worked to identify the necessary data io conduct its research work, the problems encountered, how the project team of CB overcame, the crucial details from the processing of the data which actually give the "news" that interest journalists and their audience.
