The Executive Office of the European Commission SME organizes every year in early autumn, the annual meeting of the representatives of the LIFE programs which have gotten implementation approval during the current year.
This year, the meeting relating to LIFE-Environmental Governance and Information Projects (Environmental Governance & Information) is held in Brussels on October 28, 2015 with the participation of six proposals adopted for implementation, including the LIFE project THEMIS NATURA. The project was represented by Mr. Michalis Probonas, Physicist - Environmental Scientist, PhD, Project coordinator of the program on behalf of the Natural History Museum of Crete (coordinator-contractor).
The Commission received 1,117 applications under the call for proposals of 2014. 96 of them were selected for total financing through the three components of LIFE.
The 6 projects on governance and information were aimed at raising awareness of environmental issues and correspond at an overall budget of € 7,5 mil. euros, of which the EU will contribute almost 4,5 mil. euros.
