The GREEN FUND with its Board Decision No. 158.5/2019/05.06.2019 co-finances the LIFE14 GIE/GR/000026 – LIFE Natura Themis project for year 2019 with the total amount of €70,000.00. According to the aforementioned decision, co-financing totaling to €25,000.00 are provided to the Bar Association of Heraklion, co-financing totaling to €25,000.00 are provided to the Bar Association of Chania, while co-financing totaling to €20,000.00 are provided to the University of Crete – Natural History Museum of Crete.

The LIFE Natura Themis project is being implemented from October 2015 to September 2020 (duration 5 years). The Coordinating Beneficiary of the project is the University of Crete – Natural History Museum of Crete, while Associated Beneficiaries are the Bar Association of Chania (CB), the Bar Association of Heraklion (HB), the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN) and the Ministry of Environment and Energy – Coordination Office for the Implementation of Environmental Liability (YPEN-COIEL).

The total budget of the LIFE Natura Themis project amounts to €1,580,117.00. The European Commission / EASME co-finances the project at a percentage of 59.22% (60.00% of the total eligible costs, i.e. €935,782.00), the Green Fund has already co-financed the project with a total amount of €132,000.00 (percentage of 8.35%, the year 2019 co-financing is included), while the project beneficiaries cover a percentage of 32.42% of the total budget with own funds (the total amount of own funds of the project beneficiaries amounts to €521,335.00).
