Environmental law in Greece and Europe, “little known to the wider audience”, forms the basis for the protection of the environment and natural resources of the country, which is directly connected with the local communities and the welfare of citizens.
In the framework of the project, two community surveys will be conducted in the 24 municipalities of Crete, in order to record the perception of stakeholders and lay public about the environmental crime, the environmental liability and the remedying of environmental damage
The first survey is already underway. This action will assess the initial baseline situation with regard to the level of knowledge, attitudes and practices of the stakeholders and target audiences with respect to the project objectives and against which to measure the project impact and the assessment of the project results.
The conducted study covers the Region of Crete and will be implemented for nine (9) months (01/01/2016-30/09/2016).

Public officers of the Decentralized Administration Authority, Region of Crete and Municipalities

The questionnaire for TOURISTS - VISITORS is anonymous and confidential. The collected answers will be analyzed by the company "KNOWLEDGE SOCIETY Ltd.", contractor of this action, and also by scientists / researchers of the University of Crete - Natural History Museum of Crete (NHMC). Aim of this action is the determination of the opinions of the LAY PUBLIC OF CRETE / TOURISTS - VISITORS on matters relating to the practice of persecution for crimes against wildlife and the emergence of environmental liability in Crete.
