The creation of two environmental observatories in the region of Eastern Crete (Heraklion - Lasithi) and Western Crete (Chania-Rethymno). These two observatories are designed to provide information concerning environmental damage data and crime hot spots. A single database with information gathered from police departments, marine police departments, courts and administrational prosecuting offices will be displayed in a geoinformational map.
The results from the statistical analysis of these data, and an updated review of the European environmental legislation, will help in assessing the current situation, as well as the information strategy to be followed.
Τhe information and awareness campaign, which includes a series of actions publicizing the results of the preparatory actions and the two observatories (website, application for smart devices, printed and electronic material for the social partners and the media).
The educational programs (conferences, seminars, workshops, printed and electronic guides) for the social partners and the target audiences, as journalists, the primary professional and tertiary sectors operating within NATURA 2000 sites, executives and employees of municipal and regional services working in environmental departments and administration.
The evaluation, throughout the duration of the program, of the communication strategy effectiveness and the course of implementation of the project actions (through conducting research, monitoring of qualitative and quantitative indicators etc.).
